Most of the people in Ancient Greece made their living from farming the land. This was not easy in Greece. The landscape and the climate made farming very difficult. Almost three quarters of the land is Greece was mountainous and as such was of little use for farming. There was very little rainfall in the hot summers so crops had to be grown in winter.
